Community Rules & Guidelines

1. Purpose of the Community

This ecosystem exists to help students and traders build discipline, process, and responsible behavior. Our focus is on:

  • Structured learning and accountability.
  • Rule-based thinking (risk management, consistency, execution).
  • Professional communication and mutual respect.

Note: This is not a signal group, a gambling chat, or a place for hype.

2. Compliance & Safety

Educational Only: All content is for training purposes. Nothing constitutes financial or investment advice.

Risk Acknowledgment: Trading involves risk; results vary. You are solely responsible for your own financial decisions.

Moderation: We reserve the right to remove content that creates misleading expectations or encourages unsafe behavior.

3. No Signals or Trade Calls

  • Specific “Buy/Sell now” instructions or Entry/SL/TP calls.

  • The “take this trade” mentality is prohibited. You may not post:

  • Language suggesting “guaranteed setups” or “can’t lose” scenarios.
  • Pressure for others to copy your trades or follow your specific plan.

4. Standard for Structured Analysis

  • Context: Market/session and timeframe.

  • Market discussions must be framed as process, not prediction. When sharing, use the following template:

  • Bias: What would confirm or invalidate the idea?
  • Risk: Defined risk parameters (no oversized-risk talk).
  • Plan: Rule-based checklist for execution.
  • Learning Point: What are you currently practicing or testing?

5. Risk Discipline

We advocate for risk-first thinking. The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Martingale strategies or “doubling down.”
  • Uncontrolled grid averaging.
  • Revenge trading or “all-in” mindsets.

6. Professional Conduct

  • Insults, harassment, racism, hate speech, or threats.

  • Maintain a professional environment.We have zero tolerance for:

  • Personal attacks, trolling, or toxic behavior.
  • Sharing private conversations without explicit consent.

  • The Rule: Debate the idea; never attack the person.

7. Dispute Resolution & Defamation

  • Community channels are not a forum for disputes. You may not post harmful or defamatory commentary regarding Smart Online Trader, its stakeholders, mentors, or other members.
  • Private Resolution: All complaints must be sent to info@smartonlinetrader.com.
  • Official Process: Refer to the Client Dispute Resolution process in your T&Cs.

8. No “Flex Culture” or Misleading Claims

  • To maintain integrity, we prohibit:
  • Promises of “guaranteed profits.”
  • Income claims or unrealistic success stories.
  • Edited or manipulated screenshots.
  • Milestones should be shared as progress, not persuasion.

9. No Solicitation or Promotion

  • We do not allow the promotion of outside products or services, including:
  • Other brokers, trading platforms, or courses.
  • Indicators, bots, or paid signal groups.
  • Referral codes, “DM me” offers, or affiliate links.

10. Privacy & Data Protection (POPIA)

  • Do not post phone numbers, IDs, or home addresses.
  • Ensure screenshots do not reveal the personal data of yourself or others.

11. Broker Terms & Source of Truth

  • Official Broker T&Cs provided in the portal are the final authority.
  • In any conflict between community comments and official rules, the official rules win.

12. Enforcement

  • Violation of these rules may result in:
  • Removal of content or removal from the community without warning.
  • Restriction or termination of portal access.
  • Formal legal action where applicable.
